WE HAVE PROGRAMS FOR ALL AGES!
TINY TIGERS 3 – 4
Our youngest students attend a fun but structured pre-karate class one day per week. This class gives these students a wonderful foundation to teach them to hold still, look, listen, take directions and perform a task. This focus and self-control training is the foundation for them to learn, agility, fitness, coordination and basic physical self-defense skills as well as good manners and respect for parents and family. It also starts them on the path to stranger danger and predator safety as well as how to deal with other kids that act like bullies.
LITTLE NINJAS 5 - 7
This next level of young students continue on the path of learning to hold still, look, listen, take directions and perform even more complex tasks. As with the younger children, the emphasis is also placed on developing agility, fitness, coordination and basic physical self-defense skills, along with good manners and respect for parents and family.
However, because most of these children are either in pre-school, pre-kinder, or kindergarten, a greater emphasis is placed on making them aware that they will run into aggressive students (bullies) and how they need to handle them. Also, as they are growing older, stranger danger and predator safety receive the proper emphasis to continue to develop the student’s awareness.
The natural progression for these young people is to graduate into our Youth Karate program, continuing their training as they learn more and become stronger.
YOUTH KARATE 7 & UP
TEENS & ADULTS
The challenges and information coming at today’s youth are almost immeasurable. So, for us at TMAA, developing a positive self- image as well as an "I can do it!" attitude in our students is a primary goal, not just for their self-defense, but all of their life. We know that a student with these attributes will be capable and ready to take on the challenges of school, life and any self-defense situations that may come their way. This of course means teaching these students to be well rounded martial artists using our karate, krav maga, and jujitsu instruction as well as teaching them our defensive verbal tactics program to deal with bullies and predators.
TMAA also places a strong emphasis on academic success, recognizing academic achievement on an ongoing basis. Sensei Taylor's "Stranger Danger & Bully Prevention Program" offers an in-depth lesson in how to handle both predator situations as well as bullying in school, with a key component being how to defuse the situation in the school without your child raising a hand.
This program is lauded by teachers, parents and school administrators alike. Youth Karate program is open to students ages 7 on up. (Younger students accepted after initial private evaluation by a TMA instructor.)
